
Well, not really. But I'll bet that if the real turkey were this colorful, it just might have been voted in as the national bird.
This is what's happening in my neck of the woods.

These are two of the bird drawings (an osprey and a bald eagle) I made after seeing them as specimens at the University of Colorado Natural History Museum. I started by making blind contour drawings, then working into them back in my basement studio at home, or in the College of Engineering library during my lunch hours at work.I like looking at pretty things. My new office is located in a building that is adjacent to the Boulder Creek Trail. This is what it looks like. It's very pretty.
